York Golf Club is a must visit for anyone who enjoys their golf. A welcoming clubhouse and extensive practice facilities are merely tasters before you play on what is widely recognised as one of the most pleasant golf courses in Yorkshire.
At 6,290 yards it may seem short by today’s professional golfer driving distances but to 99% of all golfers the layout, design and tree lined fairways will provide sufficient a challenge no matter what your handicap might be. The Greens have been acknowledged by all players this year as some of the very best in England by players who have visited from far and wide – a smooth true putting surface running between 9.0 and 10 on the stimp meter generally. If you hit them well, they will go in!
In 2015 the Club celebrates being 125 years old and if 2014 holds true, the course will be better than it has ever been in all that time.
Visitors and Societies will enjoy a warm Yorkshire welcome and a fair but challenging game of golf – what more can we ask from a game of golf?
