Founded in 1913 to designs by Dr. Alistair Mackenzie, one of the foremost golf course architects of the early twentieth century, the course at Sitwell Golf Club is laid out on excellent, verdant parkland. It is mainly flat and therefore easy-walking so it won't wear you out too much, which is just as well as the range of hazards featured on the course will keep you on your toes throughout each of the 18 holes.
The course is not one of the longest in Yorkshire - it measures only 6209 yards from the tee on the first to pin on the last hole - and on a good day the par of 71 should be within reach for most low handicappers.
