The course at Bungay and Waveney golf club is formed rather uniquely in a horseshoe-shaped loop, as a result of it being bounded by the River Waveney. This inland, heathland course - now well in excess of one-hundred years old - sprawls over eighty-four acres of land featuring plenty gorse, as well as a mixture of pine and birch trees, and so is probably at its finest, aesthetically, during spring when the gorse is in flower and lovely views are cast over the surrounding marshes.
The land benefits from a natural irrigation system and the greens are small and well-protected, putting the emphasis more on accuracy than length from the tee in order to get the best scores possible.
