Course Description

The venue for many Open competitions during the summer, one glance at the Alnwick Castle course is more than enough to confirm why it is such a popular choice for hosting tournaments. The layout is superb with the eighteen holes stretching over 6250 yards and not too clustered together so that each hole feels less like an extension of the others, and more like an individual challenge in its own right.

The views are exceptional also, looking out across the sea towards the horizon. There are many natural hazards that play havoc with any stray shot, including the open grassland and gorse which home many lost balls.

The club is proud of being one of Northumberland’s friendliest golf clubs. Now affiliated with PGA professional Peter Ritchie, who provides golf lesson to individuals and groups. Essential items are available from the club.
