Morecambe Golf Club was founded in 1905 but moved to its present location in 1923. This course was designed by Dr Alister MacKenzie and some of the original MacKenzie greens exist today.
It is a mainly parkland course with some holes that have a links kind of feel to it as it is located near the seaside town's centre. Consequently, those who take the time to play there will also enjoy fantastic views over Morecambe Bay in one direction, and the Lake District in the other.
Due to its seaside location, it can also be very windy and the prevailing wind has been known to play havoc with the higher airborne shots so take note of the wind speed and direction.
