Founded in 1917, Great Lever and Farnworth Golf Club is one of the undiscovered courses in Lancashire. Bolton and its hinterland is no stranger to good golf courses but visitors, for whatever reason, tend to play the courses they know best.
But what Great Lever and Farnworth Golf Club lacks in the 'fame' of its name it more than makes up for in the challenge of its golf course.
The course is a wonderful combination of moorland and parkland and, although flat and relatively easy walking, it is home to a number of memorable holes. The par threes are probably the best holes as they are fairly tight and require good clubbing.
