First opened in 1913 as a nine-hole course, Bowring was extended to eighteen holes in the 1960s and at the same time became the first Municipal golf course in the United Kingdom. Located in the beautiful countryside of Merseyside, it follows the natural contours of the land to provide an undulating course to test golfers of all abilities and handicaps.
It offers a par of 70, generous considering that it only measures 5559 yards from the yellow tees. A well balanced mixture of par 3s and par 4s make this a short but challenging course.
Its popularity is evident, also, on account of it having in excess of two hundred members.
