This 6,242 yard, par 71 course was designed by Patrick Dawson, architect of the Belfry. The superb views over The Weald and layout, including 20,000 established trees, give the course a mature, interesting feel making it particularly popular with societies.
Considerable thought has gone into the design of the course and the careful transplanting of some 2000 existing trees gives each hole its own natural boundary. The natural draining qualities of the greensand upon which the course is laid, minimises the problem of surface water. This together with the three man-made lakes, the fully computerised irrigation system and the expertise of the groundsmen ensures the course is maintained to the highest possible standard.
