According to the official history, the club, in slightly interesting fashion, was founded in 1902 by "12 fervent disciples and 20 or 30 more or less lukewarm supporters". The first course was at Nagden Marshes near Graveney before moving to its present home at Belmont Park.
A slightly unusual condition in the original lease, which is still in force today, provides that the golf is "subject to gaming and sporting rights" i.e. pheasant shoots have priority!! Faversham has a long standing reputation for being a very friendly club and has had many favourable comments from visitors about the course.
The parkland course is both beautiful and demanding. Tight tree lined fairways demand accuracy of the tee, and the wonderfully kept greens will reward a well struck putt.
