Golf Tips: The bump and run shot

When faced with a tricky shot just off the green, the bump and run shot is one that you should add to your locker.

After taking the 7-iron out of your bag, make sure you grip down on the club to increase the amount of control you have over the shot. Then, make sure the ball is in the centre of your stance and transfer your body weight so it’s more towards the left side. The stroke itself is like one you would make with the putter, and it’s important that your hands beat the clubhead back to the ball.
