• New multi-year deal for Dustin Johnson and adidas Golf
• Some believed Johnson would sign an apparel deal with Nike
• 32-year-old says adidas Golf are ‘more than just a sponsor’ to him
Stories had circulated in recent months suggesting Johnson could join fellow TaylorMade staffer Jason Day in wearing Nike apparel next season after adidas Group announced in May it was selling ‘most of its golf division’ including TaylorMade, Ashworth and Adams.
However, today’s announcement means the 32-year-old has decided to continue his long association with adidas Golf that first started in December 2007.
The deal will see Johnson continue to wear adidas Golf apparel and footwear on the PGA Tour in 2017 and beyond with the exact length of the agreement not fully disclosed.
