• Lamkin gets into the spirit of the Olympic Games
• New Gold Medal grip available now
• Design adds more tackiness and softer feel
Based on the same grip used by Miguel Angel Jimenez on tour, Lamkin Grips says the Gold Medal Edition Wrap-Tech model has been created to help golfers ‘get firmly in the spirit of the games’ and to give ’the best possible performance’.
The winning version of Wrap-Tech features Lamkin Grips’ Double-Helix pattern designed with a smooth spiral for comfort and a high traction spiral for increased control.

The brand’s proprietary metallic compound adds more tackiness and a lighter, softer feel for what it is calling ‘unmatched grip comfort’.
Lamkin’s designs will be used in the main event, too. Great Britain’s Justin Rose is one of the brand’s ambassadors and he will be putting his REL ACE 3GEN grips into play as he represents Team GB over the Gil Hanse designed layout.
The heritage of Lamkin Grips dates all the way back to 1925, which is still 21 years after Canadian George Lyon won the last Olympic gold medal for golf. That was when company founder Elver B. Lamkin began manufacturing golf’s first leather grips.
If you like the sound of the special edition Gold Medal Wrap-Tech grips, they are available through all Lamkin retailers. Just ask at your local pro shop and they’ll be able to guide you in the right direction.
