We’re not going to lie, it definitely wasn’t cheap, but you wouldn’t expect it to be when Ralph Lauren is the official partner.
Here’s a look at some of the Open Championship memorabilia on sale:
A great idea for all of the kids, these inflatable golf balls are perfect to decorate with the signatures of your favourite players. Resembling the huge tennis balls that can be seen every year at Wimbledon, these may well be the best thing in the shop. The price may seem a little steep, but once you’ve got the world’s best golfers signatures on there that’ll soon be forgotten.
Perhaps a bit pricey for a hat but, from what I saw, they were selling like hot cakes. The rain might have helped those sales a little but I’d definitely say this is the most popular piece of merchandise on sale. Whether it’s a classic style or something a bit more out there, expect to see plenty of these on courses throughout the UK.
In my opinion, this is overpriced. Featuring the Open logo, it does what it says on the tin. Not one I’d expect to be a big seller.
When it comes to polo shirts, few do it better than Ralph Lauren. When you add an Open Championship logo, it is the perfect way for many to remember their trip to Royal Liverpool. Not everyone’s cup of tea, but it’s always a popular option with the club golfer.
Pretty reasonable for a one-off golf towel, the Open Championship logo might give you a bit of bragging rights when you next play at your club. Plenty of colours to choose from, this really is the epitome of the traditional golfing merchandise.
It might seem a tad much on the price front but this is great for all those sporting collectors out there, myself included. I’ve got a little collection on the go of flags from famous courses and events, so this made the perfect addition. The next challenge is to get the 2014 Open champion to sign it. That, though, might be easier said than done.
