One of the shorter - and, indeed, older - courses in the region, Boxmoor is still a significant challenge which will vex golfers of all standards and abilities. Measuring 4812 off the yellow tees with a par of 72 if played as an eighteen-hole course, the biggest challenge it poses is testing your knowledge of your clubs. Well-educated club choice is absolutely vital to scoring well on this course.
The elevated tees and short, tight greens make it all the more difficult to negotiate and decide what club to use on each hole. The hilly, undulating moorland layout of it complicates the decision further. A good test of golfing knowledge and club-handling, Boxmoor is clearly a popular course, given its membership of in excess of two-hundred.
