New membership drive launched as club receives prestigious GolfMark
Cooden Beach Golf Club has enjoyed a successful period at just the right time as it launches its new membership recruitment campaign.
The club recently achieved accreditation by England Golf for the prestigious GolfMark award, which is a national scheme that identifies and recognises junior and beginner friendly facilities, and who have been successfully assessed in the three key areas of coaching and playing. Club environment, including sports equity and ethics, and Child Protection and Duty of Care. GolfMark facilities also automatically receive the ClubMark award, which is Sport England’s standard for high quality sports clubs.
Cooden Beach general manager Keith Wiley explained that an enormous amount of hard work went into the accreditation process and said particular thanks should go to club professional Shaun Creasey who has been key in teaching juniors and players new to golf, and for promoting the national Get into Golf initiative.
The club’s new membership drive includes a new flexible category that it hopes will appeal to golfers who want to play occasional golf without having all the benefits that full playing members enjoy.
Cooden Beach says, in taking this initiative, it has recognised that many golfers’ requirements have changed over the past ten years and, given the pressures of modern day life coupled with a very difficult economic background, some players want to play intermittently instead.
The club is offering players a new Flexible membership category at a cost of £495 for 12 months. This will give them 420 credits to use for booking tee times throughout the year, and if they use all their credits before the year is out, they can purchase more to allow them to play more golf.
Flexible members will still be able to hold a handicap at the club and will be able to use their credits to play in club competitions.
