A total of 20 members gathered at Royal Cinque Ports in Deal for the Hazards Golfing Society’s rescheduled Presidents Day.
Society president Chris Sneath MBE was there to see the field away from the first tee on a clear but breezy morning. Sneath then travelled down to the halfway house to make sure that the members were well hydrated before coming back to the clubhouse to join the attendees for lunch.
The afternoon saw the field play singles for ‘The Presidents Salver’.
The morning foursomes were won by Ian Brooker and Richard Willacy with 29 points, just pipping Rob Bailey and Malcolm Thomas on 28.
The Presidents Salver was won by David Downes, pictured above right receiving his trophy from Chris Sneath, with a score of 34 points, followed by Malcolm Thomas on 31 points via a countback from Richard Willacy. The best nine went to a true stalwart of The Hazards, Bruce Bevan-Jones.
