Teen star rips up course record

Cheshire and England star Bel Wardle has further engrained her name into the history of Prestbury Golf Club by smashing her own ladies course record.

Cheshire and England star Bel Wardle has further engrained her name into the history of Prestbury Golf Club by smashing her own ladies course record.

Wardle set the previous record of 67 three years ago in 2017 and she recently equalled the total in a club competition before ripping it up a few weeks later.

Wardle kept her cool to post a fabulous 11-under-par 63 to beat her own record by four strokes in a medal competition.

The young star lit up the back nine with birdies on 11, 12, 13, 15 and 17 to set up her chances of a new course record.

She did not disappoint on the par-5 18th hole, putting her second shot to within 18 inches of the hole and holing out for a fantastic new record.

“I have been playing well and know that I can birdie all of the holes on the course and it came together in this round – and now I’m looking to set a new one,” she beamed.
