Two-time European Tour winner Graeme Storm has taken up a new position on the board of the Durham County Golf Union. The 39-year-old was given the role of vice-president at the union’s recent AGM in recognition of his achievements in both the amateur and professional ranks, which included winning the 1999 Amateur Championship, 2007 French Open and the 2017 BMW SA Open.
The most recent win came just three months after clinging onto his European Tour playing rights.
Storm couldn’t make the AGM but, in accepting the position, he said: “It’s an honour. As a former county player myself I am privileged to become vice-president and look forward to supporting and working with the union for years to come.”
