Hatchford Brook’s new golf course, driving range, gym and clubhouse was officially opened by the Lord Mayor of Birmingham Cllr Mike Leddy recently, following a £2.5m refurbishment by social enterprise Mytime Active.
First opened in 1969, the 18-hole course received a major renovation over the last year. Additionally, a new clubhouse has been opened, which now boasts a stylish bar and café, high quality changing rooms, and a modern, 100-station gym. The venue also includes a new 24-bay all-weather floodlit driving range with a Power Tee system.
This is the second major investment in the region from Mytime Active who, last year ,took on a 50-year contract to run Birmingham City Council’s seven golf courses. The organisation re-launched Pype Hayes in August 2013 following a £2m investment.
Dignitaries from Birmingham City Council attended the ceremony to hear addresses from the Lord Mayor, Cllr Mike Leddy, Mytime Active CEO Steve Price, and Dennis Barkway, the Mytime Active chairman.
Price commented: “We are pleased to open the doors to this new golf course. The clubhouse looks amazing and provides fantastic new facilities to help people of all ages and abilities enjoy getting fit and healthy.
“The launch of this site cements further the great relationship we have with Birmingham City Council in delivering top class leisure facilities to the local community.”
