He has a passion for motorbikes and skiing but it’s the roads of the south west that Robert Moss will be criss-crossing in his new role as secretary of the PGA in England & Wales (South West).
The 44-year-old is looking forward to hitting the M5 from his home in Weston-super-Mare and meeting as many members as possible in the coming year.
Moss, formerly the club pro at Mendip Spring in Somerset, takes over a busy tournament schedule but is particularly keen to engage with the wider membership.
“You tend to see the guys that play in the tournaments but there are a lot of pros that don’t and I want to meet as many of those as possible to say that we haven’t forgotten about them and that we are here if they need us,” he said.
Moss brings a lot of experience to the role. Until last year, he was a member of the Somerset County Golf Partnership committee and was also chairman of the European Disabled Golf Association Sports Committee, preparing procedural matters for golf’s bid to join the Paralympics. He has also been a member of the PGA Rules Panel for the past 15 years and tournament director for the PGAs of Europe.
