Jerry Hayes is retiring from his position as the head professional at Sutton Coldfield after 28 years.
Jerry, who joined the club as a junior in 1962, previously worked at the Walmley, Maesdu and Dudley golf clubs before taking the position of head professional at Sutton Coldfield in 1987.
“The highlight of my time here has, quite simply, been coming to work,” said Jerry. “I’ve loved every minute and I’ll miss it like hell.”
A club spokesperson added: “We wish Jerry and his wife Jenny a long, happy and healthy retirement and look forward to Jerry joining us for the occasional round.”
Jerry will be replaced by his former assistant, Patrick Brady. A well travelled professional, with experience of working in the Netherlands and Spain, he succeeds his old boss at the start of April.
