MAX O’HAGAN won the Surrey Amateur Championship held at Richmond’s Royal Mid-Surrey Golf Club - and received his medal and the historic trophy from legendary broadcaster Peter Alliss.
Competing in a field of 66 golfers drawn from more than 30 different clubs in Surrey, the West Hill golfer met Lewis Hinton from Foxhills in the final.
O’Hagan scored an exciting 3&2 victory after an impressive birdie, eagle, birdie finish over the par-4 13th, par-5 14th and par-4 15th holes on the famous JH Taylor course.
“It was great to see so many accomplished county golfers playing at such a high standard and the course in its best condition for the championship,” said Club Chairman Chris Holt.
“We are delighted to have hosted the event once again and look forward to hosting more championship events in the future.”
The historic Royal Mid-Surrey Club is celebrating its 125th anniversary.
