Mackenzie opens impressive new high-tech iGolfStudio in Sheffield
The former captain of Yorkshire’s amateur golf team is playing his part in developing the game across the region by opening a state-of-the-art teaching and fitting academy.
Iain Mackenzie, who led the Yorkshire squad to success during his two spells as captain, has established an indoor studio in Sheffield that bristles with the latest technology used by the world’s top pros and brands.
The iGolfStudio, situated at Sheffield Business Park, is designed to help golfers of all abilities improve their game though swing analysis, teaching, training and precision club fitting.
Iain brings his many years’ experience in the golf industry - including his expertise in advanced teaching technology and video analysis - to the project.
The former Yorkshire amateur county champion is a director of Huddersfield-based MIA Sports Technology & MIA Sports Solutions, one of the world’s leading players in golf analysis technology.
PGA professional Tom Johnson will provide lessons and club fitting with Iain at iGolfStudio.
“I was co-founder of MIA in 2007 and I’ve learned a great deal about the technology behind the world’s best equipped golf studios,” said Iain. “After spending years training and advising our clients on the latest golf technology and how to open and equip advanced studios I thought it was time to have one of my own and practice what I preach.”
The studio features the same state-of-the-art equipment as that found in the world’s top golfing academies, such as the Nike Performance Fitting Center at Archerfield Links in Scotland, endorsed by Rory McIlroy.
The iGolfStudio full swing suite features advanced technology including the FlightScope X2 Elite launch monitor, V1 Branded Academy video analysis, BodiTrak, computer technology, a projection system and lighting.
“I hope the iGolfStudio will make a valuable contribution to improving the quality of golf throughout the region, helping elite players and beginners alike,” said Iain.
