Unique new indoor golf facility opens for business in Hartlepool
GOLFERS can now swap cold and windswept courses for state-of-the art facilities under the roof of a new Golf Dome.
The structure is one of a pair of domes in Hartlepool, which are now open to the public.
One of the Domes houses six, five-a-side 3G artificial turf football pitches, whilst the golf dome has been equipped with the latest facilities to help golfers improve their game and their handicap.
An indoor driving range, with a crosshair target to track the flight of the ball, will help golfers improve their swing and they will be able to hone their chipping and putting skills on a specially constructed sand bunker and chipping range.
However, the highlight of the Golf Dome is its simulator bays, which offer golfers the chance to experience the challenge and excitement of playing on a choice of 70, international courses in an enjoyable, social, club atmosphere.
In addition to its sporting facilities, the golf dome will house a café bar and a shop, which will stock a full range of clubs and equipment along with top golf clothing brands.
Elsewhere on-site, there’s a fully equipped gym, a sensory room to help stimulate disabled children and an interactive room aimed specifically at youngsters.
The Sports Domes owner Brian Morton said: “The golf dome has been created to provide challenges and entertainment for golfers of all levels of ability and we also expect it to appeal to companies looking for an alternative venue for corporate meetings and events.
“Golfers will also find it its 24°C temperature a vast improvement on the winds and rain normally.”
Members of the public can simply turn-up to pay and play and, in line with more conventional golf venues, the Golf Dome offers club ‘membership’ to golfers at a cost £100 per annum (paid in ten monthly instalments of £10) with members entitled to receive a host of special offers and incentives.
