Despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, members from the ladies section of Leamington and County Golf Club have raised more than £4,000 for dementia charities over the course of a year.

The club, based in Whitnash, held wreath-making sessions, ‘bring and buy’ sales, Indonesian lunches and golf activities to raise the cash. Some £3,100 was subsequently donated to the Pam Britton Trust for Dementia, which supports those with dementia who live in south Warwickshire, along with their family and carers.

The ladies also sent £1,000 to Alzheimer’s Research UK, a charity geared towards funding the search for a cure. The charity has said that it wants to introduce the first life-changing dementia treatment by 2025.
