New Toro machinery helping Brickendon Grange team to be significantly more efficient

The head greenkeeper at Brickendon Grange Golf Club reckons his team is able to perform its weekly duties in a day-and-a-half less since upgrading its Toro machinery.
The club, near Hertford, has been a loyal Toro customer for over 30 years and recently acquired the Groundsmaster 4700-D to help Simon Woolley’s team improve its efficiency and productivity - and it’s a move that has paid instant dividends.
“We had one less in the team last year, which equated to us being 40 man-hours a week down,” said Woolley. “This change in circumstances played a big part in our machinery choices, especially when it came to the GM4700-D. Instead of opting for a five deck, we chose the seven deck and this simple decision has saved us a day-and-a-half a week to perform the same work.”
Woolley added that it is the first-class service provided by Toro that has been the foundation of their long-standing relationship.
“Whenever we need new machinery, we road-test a range of brands and while we are always most impressed with Toro, there are other things to consider, such as the dealership we work with and the parts support the distributors offers,” he said.
“Working with Oliver LandPower and ReesinkTurfcare makes a difference to us and clinched the deal. The service is excellent.”
Brickendon Grange also invested in a new ReelmasterTriFlex 3420 and Reelmaster 5010-H to improve the club’s operating costs.
“This is a conscious decision the club has made to be more efficient.”
