August 2002 saw the long awaited opening of the Mardyke Valley Golf Club, when the first nine-holes of a proposed 18 holes opened to the local golfing public with great success.
The new course set in 153 acres of undulating countryside above the river Mardyke will offer a stern challenge to golfers of all standards. The 17th is particularly stunning and will prove to be one of the great penultimate closing holes of Essex.
Current practice facilities include driving range and putting green. The small but well appointed clubhouse has a members bar, a pro shop, changing rooms with showers and a patio area incorporating the practice putting green.
