Nike continue golf’s fashion revolution

• Nike continue to be at the forefront of golf fashion
• Have released golf-specific tights – what do you think?
• Three new polos and FlyKnit shoes also released

With Rickie Fowler’s high-tops and joggers debuting in 2016, golf fashion trends just don’t seem to be letting up at the moment. But could tights be the next big thing?

Nike believe so. A regular fixture on runners and in the gym, now new Nike Golf Hyperwarm tights tackle the course, providing a locked-in feel and disruptive new aesthetic.

“Tights are good for recovery,” said new Nike recruit Brooks Koepka. “We train so hard on and off the golf course that I think it would help us stay on the tour for a little longer by keeping our bodies fresh for years down the road.”

Designed to enhance movement with a compression feel, regulate body temperature and provide an extra layer of warmth, the Nike tights are made with a high-stretch Dri-FIT fabric that helps keep athletes dry.

But that isn’t the only method in which Nike are pushing the golf style boundaries…

Nike Golf’s new polo designs, with modern cuts and collars, best suit athletes’ personal needs. Collars come in the distinct designs: blade, roll and classic while fit options range from standard — for a relaxed, comfortable fit — to modern slim, which offers maximum mobility and modern style.

Nike MM Fly Blade Polo

This polo is lightweight, with Dri-FIT fabric and ergonomic seams for a full range of motion. The new blade collar design provides comfort with a minimal rib design and a refined look. “When they finally let me try their prototype polo I thought: this is it,” said Rory McIlroy

Nike MM Fly Roll Polo

Similar to the Fly Blade with Dri-FIT fabric, ergonomic design but has a polished roll collar.

Nike MM Fly Framing Commander Polo

This polo has a perforated collar atop breathable Dri-FIT fabric and is particularly attuned to Thorbjorn Olesen’s desire for individual expression.  “Anytime I can have my off-course style blend in with my on course style, it’s a big thing for me,” he said.

Nike FlyKnit

Originally created in 2013, the Nike Flyknit Chukka brings a fresh aesthetic to the fairway and a sustainable twist to the sport. The FlyKnit is incredibly lightweight but has technology to give a great deal of support and lockdown.

To emphasise its popularity, the FlyKnit has already been worn on course by Patrick Rodgers, Jamie Lovemark and Kevin Tway. Are they your cup of tea?
