SkyPro upgrades with Attack Angle

SkyCaddie’s award-winning SkyPro golf swing training device has been upgraded for 2015 with a new Attack Angle feature which measure whether the clubhead is moving up or down on the ball at impact.

The upgrade is automatically added when you update the free SkyPro app on your smartphone or tablet, with Attack Angle appearing as a new parameter in the Impact area of every swing. It will also be applied retrospectively to every swing you have ever recorded on their Sky Pro.

Carl Bianco, head PGA professional at Woking Golf Club, said: “It’s a game-changing update. Until now we’ve needed a £10,000 launch monitor to determine the angle of attack. Nearly every bad driver of a golf ball I see has a downward attack angle, so this additional parameter is fantastic news for anyone who has a SkyPro.

“Modern-day drivers are all about spin characteristics, so Attack Angle is especially important when you’re buying a new driver. With many golfers also struggling to achieve the right downward angle of attack with their iron play, I can see Attack Angle being of massive benefit.”

Get fully custom fit with SkyPro

The new feature allows golf pros to use SkyPro to custom-fit for the perfect driver or new set of irons, and also allows you to groove your swing even more accurately – with lower scores and a more enjoyable round of golf the reward.

“Angle of attack has been the No.1 request on the wish-list of both SkyPro users and teaching professionals since we launched the device two years ago,” said SkyPro expert James Holmes.

“Hitting down and through the ball is crucial for good iron play, and for distance-hitting off the tee you need to be coming into the ball slightly on the up. SkyPro’s new Attack Angle feature enables you to ‘groove and improve’ both parts of your game.”

Attack Angle is available now for SkyPro users with Apple iOS smartphones and tablets, with an announcement regarding the Android update expected soon.
