Callaway V Series unveiled

Callaway

Callaway has introduced its new line of V Series metalwoods and immediately billed the driver as the ‘fastest Bertha yet’.

Speed, speed and more speed has been the focus of the R&D process as Callaway aimed to create a driver built for distance.

It begins with a lightweight design – starting at 290g – with the lighter club helping to create more clubhead speed, which turns into more ball speed, and ultimately increases distance.

The new driver, which replaces Callaway’s FT OptiForce model from last year, will sit alongside the Big Bertha and Big Bertha Alpha and its new aerodynamic shaping lowers the drag throughout the swing give faster swing speeds and acts as another potential distance enhancer.

It’s adjustable, too, and features Callaway’s OptiFit technology that lets you choose from a combination of eight different lofts (-1, neutral, +1 and +2) and lie angles (Draw or Neutral) to optimise your trajectory and shot shape.

Callaway V Series driver by numbers

The driver is joined in the V Series by the fairway woods, which has allowed for the return of the Heavenwood option.

Distance, speed and versatility are included in the high launch designs, which feature the same Speed Optimised Technology and Hyper Speed Face as the driver.

On top of that, it boasts a modern warbird soleplate to increase versatility on all shots and give one of the most versatile fairway woods ever produced.

The special Heavenwood option is for every golfer, with its unique configuration providing more consistent distance and tighter dispersion that you can get from a standard 4-wood and 7-wood set-up.

The Callaway V Series driver is available from September 12 and comes in 9°, 10.5° and 13° loft options, with an RRP of £299. The V Series fairway woods have an RRP of £229, and are available in 15.5°, 19°, 20.5° (Heavenwood), 22° and 25°. For more information on everything V Series, log-on to callawaygolf.com
