One of the oldest inland clubs in England, having been founded in 1887, Durham City golf club has resided in no fewer than three places in its long history, moving to its current home at Littleburn in 1974. It is a meadowland course which banks with the River Browney and sprawls for 6321 yards over eighteen challenging holes, some of which have caught out both high and low handicapper in the past.
With a wide variety of hazards to overcome to keep your scorecard looking respectable, the course is extremely popular and challenging amongst members - of whom there are estimated to be 750 - and visitors alike.
