The Duke's course opened in 1976 closely followed by the Duchess course in 1978 and then the Marquess Course in June 2000. With three championship courses Woburn Golf Club offers arguably the best 54 hole complex in the British Isles. The Duke's, Duchess and Marquess courses have between them hosted 60 professional tournaments with a roll call of golfing greats that include Seve Ballesteros, Sir Nick Faldo, Mark James, Ariya Jutanugarn, Sandy Lyle, Carl Mason, Colin Montgomerie, Greg Norman, Justin Rose, Henrik Stenson, Lee Trevino, Ian Woosnam, Dame Laura Davies, Catrin Nilsmark, Sherri Steinhauer and Karrie Webb. Recent tournaments include The British Masters supported by Sky Sports, which was hosted by Woburn’s Tournament Professional, Ian Poulter and was won by Matt Fitzpatrick in 2015, The Travis Perkins Masters won by Paul Streeter in 2018 and The Ricoh Women's British Open won by Ariya Jutanugarn in 2016. The Women’s British Open was the first major tournament to be hosted at Woburn and under the new sponsorship of AIG returned to Woburn again in 2019, when it was played on the Marquess course from the 1st – 4th August and won by Hinako Shibuno. From 2014 – 2017 the Marquess course was also one of four venues in the country to stage Final Qualifying for The Open. All three courses have their own unique characteristics and a round on either the Dukes, Duchess or Marquess offers a different challenge and thoroughly enjoyable game. Woburn Golf Club is able to offer the perfect venue for parties of all sizes from large corporate golf days to small parties or individual fourballs. Residential packages are also available in conjunction with The Woburn Hotel, which is set in the heart of Woburn village, just five minutes drive from the golf courses. Visitors are welcome by prior arrangement from Monday to Friday but the courses are restricted to members and their guests at weekends and bank holidays, the only exception being for those guests staying at The Woburn Hotel as part of a Residential Golf Package.
