Founded in 1914 and set in 130 acres of Buckinghamshire's beautiful, rolling countryside, this eighteen-hole, par 70, parkland course benefits from its picturesque surroundings and provides a stern challenge for golfers of all abilities, whether high or low handicapper. Its variance of natural and man-made hazards makes it all the more demanding to negotiate.
The par four at hole five is particularly testing. The river which meanders through the course cuts the fairway in half, requiring an accurate tee shot, a task made none-the-easier by the significant number of trees which overshadow the yellow and medal tees. Bunkers guard both sides of the green also, therefore, confident and accurate hitting really is the key to scoring well.
