Charles Lawrie is the brains behind the design of the marvellous parkland course at Stockwood Park Golf Club. It opened for the first time in 1973, and so just recently celebrated its thirtieth birthday. It has developed brilliantly in that time and is one of the finest courses in the region, a fact its considerable membership will no doubt testify to and confirm. They'll also tell you it's a fine test of golf no matter how good or bad you think you are with a golf club in your hands, and so is well worth playing.
At 6077 yards over eighteen holes, it is not the longest course around so you'll need to call upon your irons from the tees more often than not.
