Every now and then you come across a golf course that takes you by surprise. It could be the green fee, the welcome or the golf course itself. Whatever it is, you feel lucky to have stumbled across it. Phoenix Park Golf Club, in Bradford, West Yorkshire, is one such club.
Founded in 1922, this course has been teasing and tormenting golfers from across the United Kingdom for many years and is undoubtedly one of the unsung heroes of golf in Yorkshire. It is very short when you compare it to its neighbouring courses, but its defence is that it is very tight - tight enough to leave you quivering on many tees as you stare down blankly at the fairway. A captivating test of golf. GREEN FEE KEY: £1-£15=£ £16-£30 = ££ £31-£50 = £££ £50+ =££££ |
