Having been founded in 1930, and then redesigned in 1938 by esteemed landscape architect Arthur Day, Catterick golf course is a true test for golfers of all abilities. Featuring holes such as the wonderfully named "Devil's Elbow", it requires undivided attention and arrow-like accuracy from its golfers.
With rolling fairways and well-protected, large greens, it is a delightfully demanding par 71 that has deceived many high handicapping golfers, who have been unprepared for the challenges it throws at them over eighteen, tree-lined holes. If you apply yourself properly, however, the rewards are there for the taking. And at £24 per day for adults, it represents excellent value for money also. All this considered, it is unsurprising Catterick has a large membership that is growing steadily. GREEN FEE KEY: £1-£15=£ £16-£30 = ££ £31-£50 = £££ £50+ =££££ |
