Situated in the midst of the Branshaw moors, in the picturesque Yorkshire countryside, Branshaw golf course is a challenging yet enjoyable proposition for all calibres of golfer. Designed in part by both Dr. Alister Mackenzie and James Braid, it was originally a nine-hole course when founded in 1912 before acquiring further land to increase it to eighteen holes by 1932.

With strong, prevailing winds - especially during the summer months - it can be particularly challenging, therefore accuracy from the tee is essential to avoid being blown towards the unforgiving heather that lines the fairways. The greens are also firm and fast.

The current clubhouse has been there since 1980, replacing the original which was never the same following a fire which burned it down in 1930.
