Farnham Golf Club, The Sands, is a private members club that was established in 1896. The course and clubhouse are owned and run by the members. Farnham was described by Ronan Rafferty as 'one of the hidden gems of golf in Surrey' and, on arrival, it is easy to see why. The course is a mix of parkland and pine and heather. The first five holes start in parkland after which there is a sudden change in scenery as the pine trees close in and the heather replaces the grass. By the 11th, the vista opens again with views over farmland to the Hog's Back. There are gentle rolling undulations, giving variety but not demanding excessive physical effort.
