These days, the small town of Tamworth is recognised internationally as the home of the two pigs who escaped from an abattoir and went on the run so to speak. They were consequently found after a week and their lives spared. However, long before their incredible story that hit the headlines in 1999, the municipal course at Tamworth Golf Club was making headlines of its own, attracting praise from all levels of players who were stunned at the condition and challenge posed by the course.
