With the wonderful surroundings of the glorious Somerset countryside all around, Brean golf club is one of the most strikingly attractive courses in the United Kingdom, filling almost 100 acres of lush, green meadowland.
Water features prominently on many of the holes and, being near the sea, coastal breezes have been known to add an extra dimension to the play.
Watch out for the par 3 eighteenth. Measuring 163 yards, it has done damage to many scorecards in the past. A large pond guards the approach to the green and bunkers to the left and the right make accuracy essential, a shot made all the more difficult in windy conditions when the ball can be easily swept away into one of the waiting hazards.
