Sherwood Forest is perhaps more famous as the home of the legendary outlaw Robin Hood and his nemesis the Sherriff of Nottingham, but in recent years it has built up a fine reputation as the home of a splendid golf club. Indeed Sherwood Forest Golf Club was founded in 1895 and has the distinction of having had two of history's finest golf course architects work on it. Originally, Harry Colt laid out the designs of it, before the five time Open champion James Braid lent his Midas touch to it to make a few alterations to Colt's design. With a background like that, you'd expect a truly stunning course - take it from us that you won't be disappointed if you go there.
