Located right in the heart of the Northumberland countryside, Matfen Hall offers one of the most impressive golf courses in the area, with some fantastic, panoramic views of the rural surroundings. Even more conveniently, it is still within each reach of Newcastle-upon-Tyne. The former home of the Blackett family, the hall has been converted into a luxurious country house hotel which offers marvelous views over the well respected eighteen-hole course.

Laid out across a fabulous parkland setting, the fairways and greens are bordered by some stunning mature trees, and whilst it is an enjoyable experience for all levels of golfer, many have been caught out by the water features, not least the River Pont which dissects the course in many places.
