The course here at Allendale golf club is a particularly challenging one as it is exceptionally hilly and therefore requires good stamina to get round it. At the same time, however, the short yardage - 4591 yards - more than compensates for the strain it puts on the legs, as does the scenic views of the surrounding countryside.

It is an ideal course for those new to the sport or looking to take it up as it is short but still very demanding. The tricky par 3s are a particular feature of the course as their greens are well protected and, as a result, demand accurate work from off the tee. The par of 66 is also extremely generous given its length.
