Wellingborough is an enchanting little town deep in the heart of the Northamptonshire countryside, and is a real hidden gem in many ways. It is picturesque, scenic and would not look out of place on any postcard. It is also the home of Embankment Golf Club, a marvellous treat of a golf club which is home to a superb little golf course.
It was founded in 1977 and has only nine-holes - and stretches for 3562 yards in return for a standard scratch of 73 - but it is a delightful little place for any golfer, particularly those on a short break in the area, especially as it runs alongside the river in the town.
