Fakenham Golf Club is situated on the site of the famous Fakenham racecourse and is a pleasant parkland type layout. The present course has been in existence since 1974, however there has been a golf club in Fakenham since 1889 when the first course was laid out on the common land at Hempton.

The current course is a very attractive layout with some holes following the route of the river and three holes inside the racecourse itself.

It is a par 71 nine-hole course with alternate tees on many holes and a length is 6,245-yards from the back tees. Playing Fakenham is a good test for the experienced golfer but not impossible for the beginner.
