Sleaford golf course was designed by Tom Williamson in 1905 and resembles a seaside links. It is ra easonably flat, with several spinneys and a stream. The 'Spinney' hole is notorious. The course is noted for its excellent drainage and all year round playability. Originally having an exceptionally long front nine holes, the course has been redesigned to give almost equal halves totaling 6,503 yards. A stream running through the course provides water hazards on several holes before one reaches an intimidating drive from the medal tee on the 17th and an inviting looking drive down the last. Holes to savour are the tempting 284-yard 6th, short par three 12th - over a stand of pines - and the closing hole with water lurking all the way up to the green.
