It has hard to believe that only five miles away from Swinton Park Golf Club is the hustle and bustle, pizzazz and razzmatazz of Manchester, one of Britain's biggest and liveliest cities both by day and by night. Odd then that Swinton should be about as detached from this exuberance as it is possible to be, set in a luxurious, tranquil and audibly silent area of beautiful Lancashire countryside.

Opened in 1926 to designs by James Braid, the legendary golf course architect, whose work so shaped and influenced course design throughout the twentieth century, golfers are no doubt attracted here for the peaceful escape it offers from city life as well as the challenging round of golf it serves up.
