Simply one of the best value-for-money links in the area. This course, an Open Championship qualifier when the Open comes to nearby Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club, is situated in the heart of Lytham St. Annes.
The golf course was partly laid down by the great James Braid, a former winner of the Claret Jug and respected golf course architect, and is a parkland course with links characteristics. The premier amateur club competition is named the Silver Pheasant and in 2003 Mark Ramsdale, of Formby, broke the amateur course record, which had stood for many years, with a gross score of 64. Interestingly, Ramsdale's score equalled the professional record set by a certain Justin Leonard in 1996. GREEN FEE KEY: £1-£15=£ £16-£30 = ££ £31-£50 = £££ £50+ =££££ |
