Dunscar is a challenging 18 hole moorland course which, interestingly, features various types of sturdy grass and an abundance of heather and gorse.
As the course is quite open to the elements it can get quite windy at times. Those who can shape their shots and play in sweeping conditions will fare best. The sixteenth hole is one of the most picturesque in the area - a short par three with fir trees on the left and heather and gorse surrounding the front and right. Set overlooking the Longworth Valley and with fine views to Turton Moors and Winter Hill, visiting golfers are ensured of a peaceful and enjoyable round.
