Founded in 1913 and situated roughly three miles from the town centre, Ashton-under-Lyne Golf Club is a superb part parkland part wooded golf course that is open to all members of the paying public.

The 18-hole 6,209-yard golf course is ideal for travelling golfing parties and presents the kind of challenge that will suits all pockets and persuasions. Some of the fairways may seem reasonably tight from the tee but the large greens, all of which are pleasantly undulating, will bring some respite. Three new holes have been introduced recently which have greatly improved the course.
